The last few months at the School of Discipleship have been a time of great change. In August we all, as a staff, celebrated with the 37 students in the class of 2016/2017 as they graduated from their year in the School of Discipleship. We enjoyed hearing many testimonies of how God had worked in their lives and rejoiced with them in all He had done. Then, at the end of August, we said goodbye to Patty May, who has served as the Dean of Women for the last eight years. After twenty years of faithful service and impactful ministry at MMR, Patty has retired and moved to Wyoming to be closer with family. She is also excited to have the opportunity to be involved with a Christian counseling ministry in Powell. Before she left, Patty was able to train Kara Barratta to take her place as Dean of Women. Kara has worked for the last nine years in MMR’s Equestrian Department, and we are excited for her to bring her passions and gifts to bear on the School of Discipleship. Kara recently married Daniel Stanley, who is currently serving as the Dean of Men in the School of Discipleship. We are excited for them both and are looking forward to seeing how God will use them together here in the ministry of MMR.

In September, we welcomed 20 first year students and 11 second year students enrolled for this year. They have just finished Phase 1 of the program and are now enjoying the slightly more relaxed schedule in Phase 2. They are doing well and we are enjoying watching them build relationships, study the truths of God’s Word and demonstrate a heart for seeking after God. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue in the program.
